Our take
Supabase is the Firebase killer for teams that want SQL, open-source foundations, and predictable pricing. The pgvector extension makes it the natural choice for AI apps needing vector search alongside relational data. Row-level security (RLS) policies enforce data access at the database layer — a security model Firebase's Firestore rules can't replicate cleanly. The Pro plan at $25/month is exceptional value for a full backend stack. The recent Databricks acquisition signals future AI/data warehouse integration.
