Our take

Zoho Books punches well above its weight for the price, especially if you're already in the Zoho ecosystem — the integrations with Zoho CRM, Projects, and Inventory are seamless. The free tier is functional for very small businesses (under $50K revenue), and the Standard plan at $15/month annually is significantly cheaper than QuickBooks or Xero. Multi-currency support is available on all paid plans, which is a genuine differentiator. Automation rules for recurring transactions work well, and the client portal for invoice collaboration is polished. The downsides: the revenue cap system feels arbitrary (your plan is tied to annual revenue, not feature needs), inventory management is locked behind the $150 Elite plan, and the support experience — while improving — can involve long response times. The Zoho ecosystem integration is both a strength and a weakness: great if you're all-in, limiting if you prefer best-of-breed tools. Best for small businesses wanting feature-rich accounting at a budget price, especially those already using Zoho.
