Sage Intacct is the gold standard for mid-market cloud accounting, particularly strong in SaaS, nonprofit, and professional services verticals. The dimensional reporting engine is genuinely powerful — you can slice financial data across departments, locations, projects, and custom dimensions without separate chart-of-accounts entries. Multi-entity consolidation handles complex org structures that QuickBooks and Xero can't touch. AI-powered anomaly detection and smart GL coding are welcome 2025 additions. The drawback is clear: this is enterprise software with enterprise pricing. Implementation typically costs $30K-$75K, and annual subscriptions start around $15K minimum. The UI feels dated compared to consumer-friendly tools, and the learning curve is steep. Don't consider Intacct unless you've genuinely outgrown QuickBooks/Xero or have multi-entity needs.
