Manager.io is an anomaly in the accounting world: the desktop edition is completely free forever, with no feature limitations, user caps, or business limits. You get payroll, inventory, multi-currency, and multi-business management at zero cost — features that competitors charge $100+/month for. The Server Edition adds multi-user network access, also free. The trade-off is evident in the UI (functional but dated), the lack of any third-party integrations, and minimal customer support. There are no bank feeds — you import transactions manually via CSV. The cloud edition at $49/month is harder to justify when Xero and QuickBooks offer more polish at similar prices. If you can live without bank feeds and modern integrations, Manager.io delivers astonishing value.
