Our take

Lucidchart is the established enterprise diagramming tool, particularly strong for technical diagrams: AWS/GCP/Azure architecture diagrams, ERDs, UML, and network topology. The Visio import capability is the most common enterprise hook — teams migrating from Visio can bring existing diagrams without rebuilding from scratch. Real-time collaboration works well, though Miro's canvas approach feels more natural for collaborative whiteboarding sessions. At $9/month individual or $10/month per user for teams, the pricing is fair for the feature depth. The free tier's 3-document limit is a real constraint. Lucidchart's data-linking feature (connecting diagram shapes to live spreadsheet data) is a differentiator for dynamic org charts and network maps that need to reflect real infrastructure state.

Product roadmap

Lucidchart (part of Lucid Software) is building out AI diagram generation from natural language, expanding data-driven diagram capabilities, and deepening integrations with engineering and IT tools. The broader Lucid platform (Lucidspark for whiteboarding, Lucidscale for cloud visualization) positions it as an enterprise visual intelligence platform.
